Point micro-XRF provides elemental information with high spatial resolution, allowing the interrogation of small details on museum objects without interference from neighbouring details. Within the PERCEIVE project, it has been used to obtain additional information on the composition of individual metal threads within the embroideries used to decorate the Elizabethan burse.

Bruker Artax micro-XRF (no longer commercially available)
XRF analysis was performed with an ARTAX micro-XRF spectrometer (50kV, 200uA and 600uA, Live Time 100s) equipped with a rhodium target. The spot size was less than 0.1 mm
