Research focus Description: Anadyomene from the peristyle of the House of Camillus, VII 12, 22.23. Dated to the 1st century AD, it depicts a well-known iconography, that of Venus Anadyomene, portrayed as she emerges from the bath, in the act of wringing out her hair. She is standing, her body slightly bent, with a cloak wrapped around her waist that entirely covers her legs but leaving part of her buttocks and the tips of her feet exposed.
The statue exhibits well preserved paint traces on the strophion and on Venus' hair
